  16.                 I’ve decided to put together this little collection of goodies I requested from Paramount Pictures in Hollywood in the hopes that other aspiring writers for “Star Trek: The Next Generation” will be able to know how to properly submit their script ideas.  Take note that your chances of getting a script made into an episode of STTNG are about as good as winning the lottery; bear that in mind before you spend hours (or days or weeks) molding together a script that in actuality has little or no chance of making the grade.  In any case, here’s hoping you make it, but remember, there are THOUSANDS of other people with the same idea in mind, and EVERYONE wants to get their foot in the door.
  17.         I designed these files with Nisus® 3.06 and saved them as Word 4.0 documents (except for the Release Form, which I’ve included as both Nisus® 3.06 and PageMaker 4.01 formats; Word’s graphic capabilities leave a little to be desired). I tried to be as faithful to the originals I received from Paramount as possible, and I guarantee grammatical accuracy on a scale my old English teacher would have wept over.  Print them out to your heart’s content; just make sure you have the Times font (TrueType, PostScript, or bitmap 10, 11, 12, and 18 pt. sizes; check your System Software Fonts disk as a last resort if for some bizarre reason you don’t have these fonts).  Remember to not alter the Release Form if you choose to go that route, or you’ll end up with a quickie “RETURN TO SENDER” from Paramount!
  18.          Last but not least, don’t forget that writing is a fun, imaginative way to get your point across.  Remember, every movie/TV show/whatever since the beginning of time started with someone’s ideas being put down on paper.  If you have a mind-blowing idea, AND you follow procedures to the letter, you just might be one of the VERY few who does manage to get a few toes in the door...........
